2020 Annual Conference
The International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) has made the decision to shift the 2020 Annual Conference, originally scheduled for September 13-16, in Baltimore, Maryland, to a series of virtual events.
The safety and well-being of our members, attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors are at the core of our decision to transform the meeting into an online event.
While we will not meet face to face, we understand how vital this meeting is to our field and that continuing to talk, connect, and share experiences has never been more important. In fact, this year’s meeting theme—“HR 2020: Harboring a New Vision”—could not be more prophetic or worthy of focus given the new normal in which we find ourselves.
As HR professionals, we are connectors. Especially in these challenging times for our nation, workplaces, communities, and families, it is more difficult than ever to not have our face-to-face interactions and opportunities to network and share our experiences. We will continue to be stronger and to look for opportunities to innovate. We will work to get even better at achieving the mission of IPMA-HR as the premier resource for promoting excellence in public sector human resources.
Pam Dollard, 2020 Annual Conference Program Chair and IPMA-HR President-Elect
Over the next few weeks, we will release details about our virtual plans and how you can participate. Watch for them.
Know that we’re committed more than ever to serving the public sector HR community with ongoing information, resources, and networking—now and in the months and years ahead.
